We collect and recycle statues and frames of Hindu gods and goddesses by managing the sentiments behind
- Janhavi Phadnis
How we started?
Me and my business partner - Aniruddha Pimpalkhare, were doing a typical "puneri chai pe charcha" that day. Someone put lord Shiva’s statue near a dustbin bag of Aniruddha’s society and Aniruddha was telling me about the serious hot discussion happening there in the society WhatsApp group. Actually, what to do with such kinds of religious material is a genuine problem to solve. We took our conversation ahead and decided to come up with some sort of solution. And that was the birth point of “Vidhivat”.
“A Sentiment Management Company”
“Vidhivat” is a ‘for profit’ company trying to create a channel to dispose off the not-in use statues, frames of gods and goddesses by managing the sentiments behind. “Vidhivat” is basically a sentiment management company and not a recycling center. We collect the religious items, perform the Uttar Pooja as per hinduism and then send the material to the recycling centre. Managing the sentiments of people and maintaining the holiness (पावित्र्य) while collecting the religious items, is our main motto. We are running this activity as a business to make it sustainable and to create employment opportunities during our journey.
What do we do?
We set up a temporary collection centre either in the society having 100+ residential units or in a temple or a community hall in any residential area. Local residents come there and handover the religious material to us. Then we perform a common Uttar Pooja there only through the able hands of our Guruji and after that we send all that collected material to the recycling centre.
